Can you imagine that people used to move around with horse and carriage nowadays? That was only a few decades ago, but a huge difference compared with the current transport systems. Then, it shouldn’t be really hard to imagine that travelling via a pod-like vehicle in a vacuum through immense pipelines in the near future is not science fiction. Or that our packages will be dropped off by autonomous drones. In the first part I shared my vision on the changes technology will inflict in transport and how that may impact society incredibly. Let’s see how that translates in actual devices, vehicles and concepts.

Status quo is een no-go | #hgkfvnl

Waarom is disruptie zo belangrijk tegenwoordig? Heel simpel: als je jezelf niet ontwricht, doet je concurrent het.

Onlangs sprak ik op Het Grootste Kennisfestival van Nederland. Als Chief Disruption Officer (CDO) bij hoofdsponsor Conclusion, een ecosysteem op het vlak van Business Transformatie en IT Services, kreeg ik de eer als spreker op te treden. Ik mocht op het podium komen doen wat ik eigenlijk dagelijks doe. En dat is bestaande business modellen in twijfel trekken. Niet omdat ik denk dat er geen goede dingen gedaan worden, maar omdat ik van mening ben dat het altijd beter kan. Dus zet ik mensen graag aan tot anders denken.

FNV: flexwerk duurder maken. Eindelijk.

Flexwerk vraagt op disruptie op arbeidsmarkt

Enige flexibiliteit hebben ondernemers nodig tegenwoordig. De snel veranderende maatschappij zorgt voor een turbulent speelveld met pieken en dalen. Die golfbewegingen vang je als ondernemer vanuit efficiëntie oogpunt vaak het beste op met een flexibele schil. Eén van de nuttige functies van flexwerkers, die echter niet langzaam moet veranderen in het wegcijferen van werknemers. Het zijn de flexwerkers waartegen de FNV nu de hakken in het zand zet. Op dat punt was ik in 2013 al, toen ik een artikel schreef over het nut van de verlaging van loonkosten. Het doel heiligt niet de middelen als het gaat om een toekomstbestendige arbeidsmarkt.

The adoption of this method has been increasing vigorously this last decade. Companies are even using similar methods to carry out other – not tech related – projects. So, flexibility it is?
